EL-BSN
|
|
|
|
Applications for the EL-BSN program will be accepted from
January 15-February 28.
Please read the information and application packages carefully
before beginning to work on your application.
You must complete and submit all applications and required materials to the appropriate
offices, as indicated.
Failure to do so may prevent your application from being
processed.
THIS IS AN IMPACTED PROGRAM
This program has "impacted"
status by the CSU Chancellor's Office. This means that
we receive more applications than spaces are available in the EL-BSN program. Admission to the EL-BSN program is highly
competitive and the number of students admitted may vary yearly according to budgetary
constraints.
Admission to the University as a “pre-nursing” student does not guarantee admission
to the Department of Nursing as an EL-BSN nursing major.
Due to budget cuts, upper division transfers are no longer being considered for
2010 - 2011 university admission as pre-nursing majors.
AB 540 Students
Our Consortium of Clinical Sites require that all Nursing
Program students obtain a 'negative' result on the required Criminal Background
Check. For the Criminal Background Check to be completed, students need a valid
Social Security Number or a valid F-1 Visa. Until there is some form of Immigration
reform to grant citizenship to AB 540 students, such students cannot currently be
admitted to any of our Nursing Programs. AB 540 students may want to pursue
a degree here at the University in another discipline, while also meeting the specific
course requirements for the Nursing major, so as to be prepared for entry in the
future to the EL-MSN program, once the law changes. We encourage such students to
meet with a Nursing Advisor to plan out their coursework carefully. |
