Culture of Assessment
Nursing practice in the United States is guided by a philosophy called Evidence-Based Practice. At its simplest, this means that our policies, practices, and decisions should be made on the basis of the best available data/evidence. This philosophy has been linked to better patient outcomes and underlies many of the medical improvements seen in the past two decades.
CSUF School of Nursing
The CSUF School of Nursing has embraced the philosophy of Evidence-Based Practice and believes that educational practices should be based upon evidence as well. As a result, the School of Nursing has adopted a strategy of Continuous Quality Improvement in which data are routinely collected and used as the basis for decision making.
