Institutional Accreditation

California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).


School of Nursing Program Accreditation

Each degree program within the School of Nursing at CSUF is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

School of Nursing Program Approval

Prelicensure pathway programs and Women's Health NP/Nurse Midwifery concentrations are approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) as required for certification and licensure.


Individual Program Approvals

Each educational program within the School of Nursing at CSUF is approved by additional accrediting bodies as appropriate.

The Women’s Health Care Concentration is accredited by the American Commission of Midwifery Education (ACME) and is approved by the National Certification Corporation (NCC). Graduates are eligible for certification by the State of California as a Nurse Midwife/NP or Nurse Practitioner. Graduates are also eligible to take the national certifying examination in Women's Health through the National Certification Corporation.

The Nurse Midwife Focus is fully accredited by the ACNM Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME) (formerly ACNM Division of Accreditation), 8403 Colesville Road, Suite 1550, Silver Spring, MD 20910-6374; Tel:240-485-1802, http://www.midwife.org/acme, acme@acnm.org and is approved by the National Certification Corporation (NCC). Graduates are eligible for the national certifying examination through the American Midwifery Certification Board and National Certification Corporation upon graduation. To date, 100% of our nurse-midwife focus graduates have passed the AMCB examination.

The Nurse Anesthesia Concentration is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA).

The School Nurse Credential is approved by the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC).


Southern California CSU DNP Consortium Program Approvals

The Doctor of Nursing Practice Program is a consortium of California State Universities Fullerton, Long Beach, and Los Angeles. The Southern California CSU DNP Consortium is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Additionally, each member school of the Southern California CSU DNP Consortium is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and each of their existing nursing programs is accredited by CCNE.
