UNIVERSITY ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Cumulative, transferable Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale). At the university's discretion, the GPA criteria may vary depending upon allotted enrollment limits. Please refer to CSUF Admissions and Records for more information about university GPA criteria.
Golden Four basic general education requirements
- Oral Communications (CSU GE A.1)
- Written Communications (CSU GE A.2)
- Critical Thinking (CSU GE A.3)
- College Level Math (CSU GE B.4)*
*The School of Nursing recommends completing a CSU GE B.4 certified Statistics course as this will also then satisfy the Nursing Statistics prerequisite with the same course.
University English Proficiency Requirement: Regardless of citizenship, all applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit proof of English proficiency before an admissions decision can be made. If all transfer criteria (60 units and Golden Four) have been completed at a US school, then TOEFL/IELTS will be waived. No waiver form is necessary. If some of the transfer criteria (60 units and Golden Four) have been completed outside the U.S., then submit a TOEFL or IELTS score. For exact testing requirements, visit the CSUF Admissions and Records
International Students on F-1 Visa Status: You must apply for our campus based RN-BSN program due to the educational requirements of your visa. The distance (online) RN-BSN program does not meet the visa requirements for international students. If you have questions, please contact the Office of International Education and Exchange at (657) 278-2787 for more information about F-1 visa student educational requirements.
PLEASE NOTE: Once admitted into the program, you are required to have current health insurance, current CA driver's license, auto insurance, CPR certification, and must also meet the health requirements of the university and assigned clinical agencies. Health clearance requirements include the following: physical exam, Tuberculosis screening, and positive titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis-B, and flu vaccine. The majority of healthcare agencies require that nursing students have a clear criminal background check in order to participate in clinical placement(s) at their respective facilities. Background checks will be required of all students. Please be aware that a social security number (SSN) or individual taxpayer identification number (ITIN) is required for background checks.
